I'm searching for someone with a reliable GPS unit to do just that. So far all the Garmin units have been so incinsistant that I won't pick a readout that I would feel safe in saying is accurate. This years course will be our best marked course ever so to say using a GPS would be best would not be true. We won't let anyone get lost.
Thanks,
Bob
I will still get it GPS'd.
Thanks!
Bob,
Thanks for your dedication to a well-marked course and to getting a GPS file out before the race. It so easy to miss a turn when you are blown seeing through tunnel-vision the size of a milkshake straw.
Aid Station Directions
Hey Bob,
Is it possible to get directions to the aid stations for people wanting to see riders on the course? Thanks!
Aid station Directions
Yes, that's a very good idea. I'll have some kind of map for all the aid stations at the Outdoorsman in Butte.
Thanks,
Bob
Aid Stations
What is provided at the aid stations? Is there food or do we need to rely on what we drop? Just checking, did the Cream Puff last week and they have good aid stations that are provided. Thanks for the feedback, just wanting to know what to pack/expect.
Aid Station #3
Is the Aid Station #3 zone there in Pipestone gonna be located at the Four Corners TH or actually a bit south of this? I'm planning to have some team assistance waiting for me at this particular station, so I want to be clear in my directions on how to drive/walk to this feeding area.
The updated race route description is great. Thanks for putting it out there.
Aid station #3
Station #3 will be at the railroad crossing parking area on the Delmo Lake road. That location is before 4 corners.

Butte 50 GPS Data
I have posted a Word document that contains links to the different GPS data file format. I also have an explanation that describes a few deviations from the course that aren't reflected in the GPS data. I would say that the files are 95% accurate, and should keep you from getting lost. When in doubt, follow the course markers!!
I would get out and GPS the new sections, but unfortunately I'm down and out with a broken elbow. I will attempt to get the 100 mile course put together, but we're still missing a few chunks of GPS data. If we get something put together, I'll post it in a similar fashion asap.

50-mile GPX file
Thanks for posting the 50-mile GPX data. The GPX file does not contain any polygons or obvious places where the route does not synch up (per your Word Doc).
Maybe you can add waypoints to the GPX file where the actual route differs from the GPX track. It would be a shame to have someone get lost while following the provided GPX track.
I guess the problem is I
I guess the problem is I don't know exactly where the course is going to change, and I don't have any sort of Waypoints to provide; I'm also unable to get out and investigate the changes due to my elbow... However, I'm sure the changes will be very well marked, and the course should be easy to follow. It was marked well last year, and I had no issues following the course without GPS data.
