Welcome To Triple Ring Productions Inc.

bob1Hi, this is Bob Waggoner. I created TripleRing Productions and along with my wife Gwen, co-owner Guy Vesco, event director and new partner Gina Evans we plan to bring an element of cycling that I really enjoy to Butte and Southwest Montana.TripleRing Productions is a tax-exempt, 501c3 non-profit educational association. Donations to TripleRing Productions are generally tax deductible. TRP's tax identification number is 27-1221289.

Presently Montana has a pretty good Mountain bike and Road bike racing series, but not much in the way of endurance Mountain bike racing. My goal is to change that. I have spent the last ten years racing 24 hour events in the US and Canada, I'm looking at bringing that to Montana as well as 100 mile endurance racing.

This site is designed to make contributing information as easy as possible – please make comments. I'm keen to get in touch with anyone who might be able to help add new content or edit/ update material.

Trail Report: Highlands to Homestake

Bob,
I rode the stretch of the Butte 50/100 route today from Highlands Campground to Homestake Pass (...and down Blacktail to Continental). Miraculously, managed to avoid the rain & hail. Anyways, this portion of the trail is in great shape, with just a bit of snow/mud in the sections before & after Limekiln. I moved most of the downed timber off the trail, but there were 4-5 pretty big logs that I thought I'd better defer to the professionals on. The route down Blacktail, as anticipated, is very washed out & very rutty...will certainly be an adventure racing down that stretch. Looking forward to July 31st...

Highlands Trail

Hi Chad-

Think I met you this saturday at the Pedal the Pintlers. If so, nice riding! Is the remaining deadfall on the Highlands to Limekiln section? If not, where? I'm going to try ride as much of the 50 as possible this wednesday so if anyone else happens to have that day off and wants to ride do let me know.

Sean

Highlands...

Hi Sean, Yup, that was me at the Pedal the Pintlers. Great day of ridin' out there on Sat. They do a good job in Anaconda puttin' this on. If I recall correctly from Sunday's ride, most of the downed timber is between the Highlands to Limekiln section...closer toward Limekiln. There's also one log down just before you get to Pipestone Pass. All can be walked over very easily. Have fun on Wednesday...

Chad's trail report

Thank you Chad for the report, I was afraid there would be more snow and downed trees. I owe ya!

100 Route

Hi Bob,

Starting to get psyched for the 100 this summer, and wondering when you think you'll 1) have the route finalized, and 2) have an elevation profile (even if it's just drawn off a contour map, and not "real")?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom

We will have the route finalized this week and will then have the topo maps with profiles completed.
Looking forward to seeing you back.
Thanks,

Bob

100 Route

So is the butte100[1].jpg file the official 2010 profile?

Thanks,
