Welcome To Triple Ring Productions Inc.

bob1Hi, this is Bob Waggoner. I created TripleRing Productions and along with my wife Gwen, co-owner Guy Vesco, event director and new partner Gina Evans we plan to bring an element of cycling that I really enjoy to Butte and Southwest Montana.TripleRing Productions is a tax-exempt, 501c3 non-profit educational association. Donations to TripleRing Productions are generally tax deductible. TRP's tax identification number is 27-1221289.

Presently Montana has a pretty good Mountain bike and Road bike racing series, but not much in the way of endurance Mountain bike racing. My goal is to change that. I have spent the last ten years racing 24 hour events in the US and Canada, I'm looking at bringing that to Montana as well as 100 mile endurance racing.

This site is designed to make contributing information as easy as possible – please make comments. I'm keen to get in touch with anyone who might be able to help add new content or edit/ update material.

100 mile profile

No, but close. We have had enough spring snow to keep us from getting an up-to-date GPS and profile, if the weather holds this coming week we should have it. The actual elevation gain is closer to 18,000'

100 mile profile

Any update on a final profile and total elevation gain?

50 mile request

We have had a couple requests to start the 50 mile race earlier, if we did that, all 50 mile entries would have to be in by the day before as is the 100 mile.
Let me know how you feel about that.

Earlier Start?

I think 9 am is good since it allows the both races to finish at close to the same times. I was also thinking of the volunteers and how long they would have to be on the course, which brings up a question on the 100 route, will it also be counter clockwise (head past Homestake Lodge first) or a figure 8? I assume the last 50 (or 45) miles would be the same as the 50 miler.

8 am would be okay for the 50 miler, but 7 am is too early.

To Jeff

the last 50 for the 100 mile will be the same as for the 50 miler. I think at this point from what I'm reading a 7am start is out. I'm leaning towards staying at 9am.

Thanks for all so far, hoping for more.

Race day registration

I am normally a big fan of preregistering for a race. But this year I'm planning on making a late decision on my attendance to the 50-mile so I would object to not being able to register on race day. I agree with the other poster that the original start time is better because it puts the finish times more in line with the 100-mile race.

50 mile start time

I can understand wanting to start and thus finish earlier but I do like the idea of the later start as it would have more people finishing at about the same time which would create more finish line energy.

I agree that an earlier start

I agree that an earlier start would be nice. Starting with the 100 milers at 6am seems unnecessisarily early, but 7am, or even 8am would be better.

50 mile request

Just what is the request?

-Sean

Request

To start the 50 at 7am.
